Westwood Ensemble 2025-2026 Season Program

My community orchestra tasked me with creating their program (and poster) for the 2025-2026 season. The theme/title of the season is “Symphonic America”, focusing on music that has shaped America’s History. After presenting a few different ideas, the board decided that the “Lady Liberty” design was what best encapsulated the look we were going for.

Concept work

The first idea I had actually the American flag design, with the music notes running along the stripes. I think this may still be my favorite idea concept-wise, but it was difficult to make a strong design when actually executing it. The playbill idea I think may be the most pleasing design-wise, but wasn’t quite as initially striking as the other two. In the end, I think the lady Liberty Design was a good marriage between concept and design. The notes coming out of the score book are from pieces that we are actually playing in concerts!

Final Design and Illustration

For the final design, I didn’t make too many changes. I just wanted to refine the illustration and make it look more polished overall.
